Comprehensive Consultation from Upstream Policy to Downstream On-Site Projects

At the OECC, we cooperate closely with partner countries from upstream policy development to downstream on-site project implementation. We take this approach by deeply understanding the situation and needs on the ground and applying our 30-year environmental cooperation experience with our networks.
We also listen to the voices from the local private companies and provide the appropriate support to drive business efficiently in partner countries.
Our diverse staff members have worked at the forefront of various environmental fields, including administration in the Japanese government and local governments, engineering in energy and equipment manufacturing, and financial services to name a few. By maximizing the strengths of each staff member and pooling their knowledge and skills to tackle cross-cutting issues, the OECC can help resolve complex environmental problems in developing countries.

Wide Experience in Planning and Operating International Conferences, Training, and Information Dissemination

We plan and operate a wide range of events from high-level international conferences and intergovernmental policy dialogues on global-scale issues, to capacity-building training for government officials and private sector practitioners. The OECC’s experienced staff support with both event logistics and facilitation of discussions and content.
We also provide a wide range of information dissemination services including brochures, videos and websites for governments and international organizations to introduce their achievements and on-going projects. We value the significance of communication and conduct effective outreach.

Project Support in Environmental Business from a Neutral Standpoint

The OECC provides support for the private sector interested in developing environmental, energy and other business solutions in developing countries.
We provide help from the early stages of business development including identifying local needs for solving issues, matching them with technologies and services (seeds) of Japanese companies, approaching relevant government agencies and supplying the necessary information. When required, we work closely with our clients in the specific stages, such as in obtaining permits and licenses, financing from domestic and foreign financial institutions, market deployment, development of GHG reduction methods and engineering.
We assist the Government of Japan with project development given our neutral position in the private and public sectors. Furthermore, by acting as a bridge between developing countries and Japan, and between the public and private sectors, the OECC helps businesses come to life.
