The Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan (OECC) was established in 1990 and has been active as Japan’s core organization in driving overseas environmental development cooperation through practical actions.
We play the role of connecting developing countries with the Japanese government, local governments, businesses and stakeholders. We engage in various environmental consulting services and the identification and formation of environmental development cooperation projects based on the needs of our partners, clients and market dynamics.
We promote high-quality environmental development cooperation activities, collaborating with various partner countries, as well as diverse players such as consultants, manufacturers, local public entities, research institutions, and government agencies including the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Our collaborations also include international institutions such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the United Nations University (UNU), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat and private enterprises.
By fully leveraging on these abundant national, international and intellectual networks, we aim to create a better society by addressing environmental challenges in developing countries.
